Smart card scanning technology foils false ID in Swansea
More than 800 false IDs used by young people trying to get into Swansea pubs and clubs have been seized in the past year. A scheme to check on identification resulted in 835 driving licenses, passports or other identification documents seized. Because results of the A Level and GCSE exams due to be released next month, police have concerns that the results of those exams may lead to people under 18 years trying to enter licensed premises in order to celebrate their results.
Smart card technology from Time & Attendance Wales eliminates the worry of people attempting to access premises with false identification. Our time and attendance and visitor monitoring systems issue alerts when someone tries to enter a door access point illegally. Where our smart cards have the advantage – they use Proximity Read technology where the badge does not have to be removed from a wallet or purse. The badge will read through your wallet/purse in a quarter of a second.
For extra high security areas, fingerprint scanning technology can be added to the network.
