Car parking control using smart card technology

Deganwy has introduced two free parking spaces in the Station Road car park in the village centre to try and attract new business to its area of Gwynedd. They allow a 30 minute stay, with no ticket required, in a bid to attract more customers who want to make quick stops. Deganwy County Borough Councillor, Jason Weyman, has been campaigning for ways to improve parking, said: “When I was a businessman I was constantly being asked, and having complaints, by customers and other traders about parking. It’s there for people to pop in and post a letter, or pick up a prescription and increase the footfall in the village.”
