Contactless clocking technology helps your firm with personnel issues
One in five British workers takes a "sickie" a year according to a latest study. Brits’ shirk ethic was revealed when it was estimated suspect sick days cost the UK economy a huge £1.6bn a year. A majority of bosses said some staff liked to extend their weekend by taking Mondays or Fridays off sick, 68% noted a connection between dubious sick days and holidays, while 39% said absence was linked to special events such as sporting tournaments, said Aon Consulting.
Systems from Time and Attendance Wales can aid employers in detecting unusual absence patterns. At-a-glance summary of time and attendance details is available, showing individuals or groups of employees, after workers clock in with contactless smart cards. The cards’ passive electronics mean that they do not require batteries and have a theoretical infinite life. As there is no physical contact between the card and reader, neither will become worn-out by continuous use – unlike swipe readers. This also gives the advantage that dust and residue picked up from the working environment presents no risk of clogging the reader.
